Letter to the Reader

Dear Reader,

It is our pleasure to present to you the second volume of NU Ideas. This volume features a new slate of peer-reviewed articles from Nagoya University’s graduate students written in Japanese, Chinese and German with new findings on internet word usage, metaphor in the Chinese language, and medieval Merovingian physicians. It is our hope that in this issue you will find interesting new ideas to spur, refresh, or support your own academic work. We believe that the combination of multilingual and multidisciplinary approach is the best way to represent the diversity of languages and research topics found at Nagoya University. We are looking forward to reading any comments, questions or suggestions that would help us make a better journal to meet your needs.

Sincerely,
NU Ideas Editorial Staff
